Fire Pit Table - Find Out what is Available
Fire pit tables are hot! And the good news is that there are many choices
available for homeowners to enjoy. What started out as a simple fire contained
by a fire bowl has grown to include a mantle or table top which surrounds
the bowl.
What's available: Most mantel/table surrounds are made from some
kind of stone, like granite, that doesn't conduct heat and get really
hot while the fire's going.
Want to use the table: It's a good idea to check with the manufacturer
to find out whether or not the model you are interested in is safe for
placing a beverage or snack on the surface while in use: (if using proper
fire safety precautions).
If you are looking to buy a fire pit table and have a limited
budget take a look at some of the pre-made ones. We have found a few to
recommend to you. These include two propane ones, one is by Blue Rhino
and the other is by Coleman. For a woodburning table we suggest one made
by Uniflame.
It's Versatile! Granite Fire Table by Coleman
The propane gas fire table made by Coleman is a great choice if you
want versatility of having both a fire pit and an outdoor table but not
at the same time. This fire pit has been designed with a 30" granite
insert that can be placed over the fire bowl when not in use and funciton
as an attractive granite table. People love it and it receives top reviews
at Amazon.
Offers Great Value! Slate, Marble and Copper Accent Fire Table by Uniflame
This wood fire table is beautiful and a great value. The mantel part
is very decorative and is constructed of slate and marble with copper
accents. Customers who purchased this wood burning fire pit claim that
"it looks expensive" and more so than what they paid for it.
Hide the PropaneTank! Gas Fire Pit with Mantel by Blue Rhino
This gas fire pit with a decorative slate and marble mantel also includes
a storage area beneath which serves to hide the control panel with electronic
ignition and a 20 pound propane tank. Very nice pit!
Important Safety Precautions:
Fire pits are designed to contain the components of a fire. If you buy
a wood burning fire pit, using the screen protector that is included prevents
hot coals from sparking a potential fire. Using common sense is essential
and that includes never leaving the pit unattended while in use or allowing
kids to play unsupervised around the fire. Additionally, surfaces can
get extremely hot so make sure there is enough space between seating and
open flames.
